Easy Turnip and Spinach Soup Posted by samaree

I decided to make two new soups to stash in the freezer for lunches. Since I had a bag of turnips to use up, I came up with this one.

Turnip and Spinach Soup

5 medium turnips, peeled and cut in 1 inch cubes

8 ounces frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry

1 (2 ounce) packet Mrs. Grass chicken noodle soup mix

4 cups chicken broth or water

pepper and Mrs. Dash Table Blend, to taste

Bring broth or water to a boil. Add the bouillon from the soup mix and the turnips. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes. Add noodles and spinach and cook for 4 more minutes or until noodles are done. Season to taste.

Servings: 4

Tips: If you don’t like or can’t find turnips you can substitute potatoes.

Discount stores such as Save-a-Lot and Aldi sell a knock off Mrs. Grass soup that is very inexpensive. You could also use canned broth and tiny pasta.
