I got off work at six and came home to spend two hours in the kitchen. I made some breakfast bars with oatmeal, sesame seeds, dates, raisins, walnuts and almonds. They taste great, but were a pain to get out of the pan. I lost about two bars worth between Michael and I trying to jack-hammer them out. Oh, well, I’ll save the crumbs for yogurt topping.
While those were baking, I decided to make my bento. I made some tiny alphabet pasta and started chopping some veggies with the intention of making some kind of pasta dish. I thought I had a small container of chicken with broth in the freezer, but only came up with one big container. Screw it – I made soup. I’ve been running out of ideas and energy. Maybe I’ll resume Monday, but the next two days are soup, fruit and crackers for lunch.
Then I started on dinner – salmon patties and four cheese mashed potatoes. I roped Michael into making tartar sauce even though he was busy on the interwebs.
After dinner, packed all leftovers, cleaned stove and counters, filled water bottles for work, prepped coffee pot, laid out work clothes, took a shower. Now it’s 10:47pm.
Where did my day go? I spent all evening getting ready for a tomorrow I don’t want.

I’m not a big fan of sandwiches. The whole time Subway’s been doing $5 footlongs, I’ve bought one – and Michael got the second half of it! I decided to go back to eating soup at least half of my work week. Easy, fast and I only have to cook once. Michael also took over prepping the coffee pot – small, but still helpful. You’re not a slacker at all. It seems like you manage your time better than I do…
