My New Dog-in-Law Posted by samaree

Yes, that’s dog-in-law, ever after known as DIL because there is no daughter-in-law except for me. Meet Jac:

Jac was adopted from the Humane Society by my in-laws about 7 weeks ago. He’s named after a Boston Red Socks player, Jacoby Elisbury. He’s half Jack Russell Terrier and half dachshund and weighs 12 1/2 pounds. His top jaw is much longer than his bottom jaw, giving him a goofy “duh” smile that makes you laugh. He turned 3 on May 1st, but we missed his birthday, because the vet never told anyone what his microchip said.

I bought him a harness and a t-shirt as a belated birthday gift. I put the shirt on him and it was like he had always been wearing it. He’s excellently trained and likes to be picked up and carried around. I wonder about the circumstances that lead him to be homeless.

I like to rub his velvety ears, especially the left one because it’s leopard-print. I also like to kiss the soft spot right next to his eyes.

I’m glad he has found his forever home and that he is a part of my life.

You instantly found a place in my heart. I love you, Jac-a-roo!
