Tomorrow we’re having a cookout at work. I do like to take advantage of free food, but I’m always so stuffed and ready for a nap after a big meal. Instead I will take one of my divided plates (looks like a round TV dinner plate with a lid) and take my share of cookout food home for Michael.
Okay, this picture didn’t come out very well, but I can’t think of any way to improve it.
Again the little white yogurt cup is homemade red skin potato salad. Next to it is peanut butter to eat with the celery sticks. There are cucumber slices and montery jack cheese cubes. The discolored wedge shaped objects (between the celery and peanut butter) are slices of a pear I bought and promptly forgot about. I had to cut off and discard about 1/3 of the pear. I hate wasting food. It’s like putting money down the disposal. I didn’t use any filler because I’ve been bringing home about 1/3 of my bento box home every night. I haven’t had much appetite lately. The congestion from the lingering bronchitis (over a month now) kills my tastebuds. Tuesday I only had raisin bread for lunch and chips for dinner. (Yeah, healthy, I know.)
Hopefully my vacation next week will give me much needed rest and relaxation. I’m also going to (really try to) quit smoking. I’ve been smoking for much of the last 21 years. (Jeez, I’m been smoking the age of a legal drinker! I am old!) I have better things to spend my money on… Like shoes!
