Yesterday I went to Goodwill with my mother in law and my brother in law. We went to the one way out in the ghetto. It seems to get all the good stuff. We checked the dry erase board on the way in. Yellow tags were 75% off. Whoo-hoo, look for yellow tags. Also long sleeve were 50% off. Who cares that it’s 90 degrees out?
Looked through all the tank tops to find one to use as a swimsuit top. No luck. Found two long sleeves, one from the Limited and was only $2.25 with the discount. Found a nice purple crushed velveteen shortie PJ set for $4.50. I got a pair of Walmart denim shorts for $4.00 and a wild pair of cotton shorts – bright orange with huge white polka dots – for $3.00. A pair of gray flannel Mickey Mouse clogs set me back $3.00, as well.
The majority of my birthday gift certificate, however, was spent on toys. I got about a dozen 25 cent toys (like McDonald’s toys and similarly sized ones). I got a stuffed watermelon and a stuffed broccoli (weird but awesome); an alien, two Mickeys, and a Toucan Sam for Michael; and a doggie for Bijou. Since I knew she would just rip out her toy’s stuffing and strew it all over the house, I made a preemptive strike. I cut a slit in the stuffed doggie’s side and took out all his stuffing. Then I sewed up the hole. First thing Bijou does is chew one of his plastic eyes off. So, then I cut off the other one. Poor blind doggie.
I also bought a Sandra Boyton mug and a ceramic baked potato, I assume to be used for serving sour cream. (Thanks to Thom for finding that.) My MIL found a half dozen pairs of shorts and a couple of tees for work. Thom, my BIL, found a stuffed Little Caesar’s guy and a bunch of 25 cent toys. Always a kid at heart.
Going camping with the inlaws this weekend. It’s supposed to be in the 90s, so I am looking forward to the pool the most. Plus, food always tastes so much better when it’s grilled. Maybe we’ll eat out once and I can review the restaurant for my hubby’s Food Trio blog!
